Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Strauss Cleaners INC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates service locations in NY, NJ, and FL. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect personal information when you contact us or use our services.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly when booking a service or contacting us:

  • Name and contact details (phone number, email address)
  • Service address and property information
  • Payment information (processed securely by Stripe — we do not store card numbers)
  • Communications with our office and field technicians

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Schedule and perform restoration or cleaning services at your property
  • Send invoices, receipts, and payment confirmations
  • Communicate appointment details and technician arrival times
  • Comply with legal and regulatory obligations

4. SMS Communications

By ticking the SMS consent checkbox on our booking form, you expressly consent to receive text messages from Strauss Cleaners about your service. These are transactional messages — not marketing — and may include:

  • Receipt confirmation when payment is received
  • Invoice notification with a secure payment link
  • Technician ETA when on the way to your job site
  • Appointment reminders (day-before)
  • Customer service follow-up, if needed

Message frequency: Typically 1–5 messages per service appointment.

To opt out: Reply STOP to any message at any time. You will receive a confirmation and no further messages.

For help: Reply HELP or contact us at office@strausscleaners.com / (845) 262-6530.

Message and data rates may apply. Carrier rates vary.

Phone numbers are used only to send transactional SMS about your service. We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number with third parties for marketing or any other purpose. For full SMS terms, see our SMS Terms & Conditions.

5. Data Sharing

Mobile information will not be shared or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All categories listed below exclude text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share information only with service providers who assist us in operating our business — such as Stripe (payment processing), Twilio (SMS delivery), Supabase (database hosting), Sentry (error monitoring), and Plaid (bank account data aggregation, see Section 6 below) — and only to the extent necessary to provide those services. These providers are contractually required to protect your information.

6. Bank Account Data via Plaid

The owner of Strauss Cleaners may connect the company's own business bank accounts to this application for the purpose of automated bookkeeping and expense tracking. We use Plaid as the bank-data aggregation service for this feature. When a bank account is connected:

  • Plaid receives bank-login credentials directly from the account holder via Plaid's own secure interface; we never see or store those credentials.
  • Plaid returns a long-lived access token to our system, which we encrypt at rest using AES-256-GCM and store with restricted access.
  • We retrieve transaction history (merchant name, amount, date, posting status) and account metadata (account type, last four digits, institution name) for the purpose of business bookkeeping.
  • We do not initiate any payments or transfers, and the access we receive is read-only.
  • Bank-feed data is restricted to the business owner role at the database level — managers, secretaries, and technicians cannot view it.
  • The account holder may disconnect at any time from within our application or directly from the bank's own “Connected Apps” settings, immediately revoking access.

This bank-feed feature concerns the business's own accounts only. Customer payment information processed via Stripe (Section 5) is handled separately and is not sent to Plaid. Plaid's own privacy notice is available at plaid.com/legal.

7. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide services, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Service records are typically retained for seven years to satisfy insurance and regulatory requirements.
